Herb Study – Dill, Cilantro, and Fennel

Dill seed can be used as a spice, and the dill plant itself is a classic pickle flavoring. Cilantro turns up in salsas and other dishes, and the seeds are usually known as coriander. Fennel, often seen labeled as “anise” in stores, has a bit of a licorice flavor and is delicious in stews.
