Monday, Feb 6 – 6:00 PM – Oscar Film Series: The Help
Get a chance to watch Best Picture nominees to celebrate the big Academy Awards show on Sunday, February 26! At the end of each night, the DVD will be given away in a drawing (must be present at 6:00 PM to get a ticket).
The Help: An aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s decides to write a book detailing the African-American maid’s point of view on the white families for which they work, and the hardships they go through on a daily basis.

This group is for anyone who is looking to write in a positive environment, alongside other writers. Even if you don’t want to participate in the evening’s exercise, bring along what you are working on and just use the time as a writing workshop.
Exquisite Corpse Stories:This technique was invented by Surrealists. Each collaborator adds in sequence, but they are only allowed to see the end of what the previous person contributed.
Saturday, Feb 11 – 1:00-5:00 PM – Double Booked: An Altered Book Workshop
Make your own books, or alter an existing book and create a work of art! We will have materials and paper here for you to use, or you can bring your own creative papers to use. Browse some of the samples and books that we have to get some ideas, and if you like — showcase your creation in a Gallery display in March!
