This Saturday, February 11, the Hays Public Library is hosting the inaugural Double Booked workshop. From 1:00-4:00 PM, stop in the Gallery and learn how to make an old book into a work of art!

There will be several stations where you can choose how creative you want to get. At one station, you can assemble your own book out of re-used papers using a Japanese stitch to bind them together. At another station, you can paint images on book pages or cut apart old books and make a new creation.

If you don’t have any supplies or materials, don’t worry! We will have all of that here at the library for you to use. If you need some inspiration, we’ll have a few samples as well — or check out the links below to learn more about altered books.
