This past Wednesday, library patrons were treated to a wonderful performance by Jerry Barlow. Barlow specializes in Celtic fingerstyle guitar, and his performances are a perennial favorite here at the Hays Public Library. He played some traditional Irish, Scottish, and English songs as well as some of his own original compositions. One of his original pieces has a Kansas tie; it was inspired by Greensburg, KS and the community’s experience rebuilding after being hit by a tornado. The performance was educational as well as entertaining, as Barlow described the tradition and history behind the various songs.
