Blood Drive – March 12

Interested in giving back to the community? Consider donating blood! The Hays Public Library is providing space for a Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, March 12. Appointments are available between 11:00 and 2:15, and you can schedule an appointment either at the main floor desk or online at GiveLife.

When you come in to donate, you will be asked to confirm some health information in a private setting. Your iron level will be checked, and then you will be told whether you can donate. The actual donation process takes about 8-10 minutes, but you’ll want to plan a bit more time for recovery. It generally takes less than an hour from start to finish.

Be sure to drink lots of water and get a good night’s sleep the night before. It also helps if you eat a healthy meal before you come in to donate. You can donate blood every 56 days.
