It’s National Library Week, so be sure to stop in and see us! We are running a special giveaway from Monday through Friday: if you come in and check out an item, any item, you will automatically be registered to win a Sony eReader! This device can be used to check out ebooks from the Sunflower eLibrary, and you can also use it to purchase ebooks from the Sony Reader store. Adult patrons only, and the number of items you check out will NOT affect your chance of winning.

Feel free to bring a sack lunch; refreshments are provided. In 1494, Columbus made a second journey to the Americas–this time with more ships, more men, and a grander mission. But in just a few short years, this settlement would perish. What happened at this ill-fated settlement remains a mystery 500 years later.

Thursday, April 12: Anime Club

This month we’ll be doing an activity with Tite Kubo’s BLEACH! We’ll be viewing the first episode for those that are new to the series along with two special episodes!

Saturday, April 14: Edible Books Contest

Has a book inspired you to cook? Join us at the 6th Annual Edible Book Contest! Make a work of art out of food – every part of the submission must be edible. Drop off your submissions on Friday 4/13 from 3-5pm, or on Saturday 4/14 from 9am-12pm. Public viewing officially starts at 2:00pm, with judging happening at 3:00pm. Prizes will be awarded for the Tasters Choice category and the Eye Candy category, and there will be an adult winner and a youth winner for each category!
